Primaselva
Away from the daily rush and the noise of the city, Primaselva is a clear example of the values we stand for at MAAR Arquitectura. Nature is the lead author of this project and the starting point of every idea. With 200 apartment units carefully woven into the landscape, Primaselva is made up of rivers, cenotes, waterfalls, green roofs, outdoor showers, event areas, linear parks and more. The initial problem the project had to solve was an urban one: how do you fit 200 homes into a single development and still feel completely secluded? Divided into 10 buildings of 20 apartments, no apartment shares a wall with its neighbours, nor is a wall shared between private areas such as the bedrooms and shared areas such as the living and dining room. By protecting the privacy of each building and giving every home views of nature, lakes, parks, cenotes or rivers, Primaselva can be read as a sanctuary to nature, where the aim is not to impose architecture but to respect and merge with the environment.
