Palmarena
Palmarena is a mixed-use project that grows out of a precise reading of Villahermosa's urban context. Set in a strategic part of the city, it combines retail on the ground floor with residential apartments above, responding to local dynamics, the climate and the need to create active, functional and well-connected environments. More than adding programme, Palmarena sets out to bring order, activity and real value to its immediate surroundings.
The design starts from a clear premise: build efficient architecture for a tropical city. The massing, circulation, orientation and voids all respond to the climate of Tabasco, prioritising natural ventilation, solar control and a direct relationship between inside and out. Every architectural decision is made to improve the daily experience of those who live in and use the project, both residentially and commercially.
At MAAR Arquitectura we conceive Palmarena as an exercise in conscious architecture: a project that understands the rhythm of the city, balances the private and the public, and shows that well-considered design is not a luxury but a tool for raising quality of life and long-term urban value.
