MAAR Arquitectura Stands Out at International Awards with a Puerto Cancún Project

At MAAR Arquitectura we developed Thompson Private Residences Puerto Cancun with the vision of creating a new way of living in vertical residential spaces. The project was awarded the gold medal at the Urban Design & Architecture Design Awards 2026, recognising our proposal as a benchmark in contemporary architecture.

From the start, we conceived the project with an integrated approach in which architecture, nature and lifestyle connect. We wanted to design spaces that not only serve a function but create a complete experience for the people who live in them.

The development brings together residences designed to make the most of natural light, views and ventilation. The distribution of spaces follows a clear logic in which social and private areas coexist in balance, adapting to everyday life.

We also made the amenities an essential part of the architectural project. Spaces such as the wellbeing areas, the coworking space and the top-floor Sky Beach were conceived to enrich the residential experience and encourage a connection between community and setting.

The project reflects the way we understand architecture: as a discipline that transforms the way we live. This recognition encourages us to keep creating spaces that combine design, functionality and a contemporary vision.
